At the 2025 World Economic Forum in Davos, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh led a Vietnamese delegation that included FPT Group Chairman Truong Gia Binh. The tech leader flew to Switzerland to tell the world about Vietnam's rise as a technology player.
FPT was not alone. Vietnam Airlines, VNPT, EVN, BIDV, and Techcombank also joined the forum, showcasing the country's economic strength and technological ambitions.
▍ FPT's Global Pitch
FPT, Vietnam's largest tech company, operates in more than 30 countries. At Davos, Truong Gia Binh declared that Vietnam is not merely part of the global supply chain — it is a technology innovation partner.
"We don't just make the products of the future — we build the possibilities," he said.
▍ The AI City Plan
Ho Chi Minh City Party Secretary Nguyen Van Nen also unveiled an ambitious "AI City" initiative at the forum. The plan, led by Vietnamese tech firm CMC Group through its AI.X and C.OpenAI projects, aims to turn Ho Chi Minh City into a smart city model and strengthen Vietnam's position on the global tech map.
