FPT University's president flew to Taiwan for the signing ceremony with Asia University. The two schools aim to jointly train semiconductor talent.
FPT is Vietnam's largest software company, operating in more than 30 countries with overseas revenue accounting for half of total earnings. Asia University is known for educational innovation and applied research. The partnership combines both schools' strengths.
▍ What the Partnership Covers
The agreement spans student exchanges, faculty-led research, and joint innovation projects. Vietnamese students can enroll in a 2+2 semiconductor program — two years of study in Vietnam, followed by two years in Taiwan to complete a bachelor's degree.
▍ FPT's Scale
In Vietnam, FPT is an industry leader. Measured by annual revenue of roughly TWD 80 billion, it sits alongside mid-tier Taiwanese tech firms.
▍ Vietnam's Global Push in Tech Education
Vietnam has been ramping up investment in technology education, particularly in AI, automation, and advanced manufacturing. Beyond Asia University, FPT University has partnerships with institutions in Japan, Australia, Singapore, and more than 30 countries, reflecting its aggressive global education strategy.
From Taiwan's perspective, as its tech sector draws worldwide attention but faces a shrinking domestic population, attracting international students and talent is becoming an unavoidable imperative.
