[Vietnam Adds a November 24 Holiday: The Viet Media's Public Holiday Calendar for 2026 and 2027]
Vietnam has a new public holiday. November 24 is now Vietnam Culture Day, a paid day off under a resolution the National Assembly passed in April. The rule took effect on July 1 and applies every year. In 2026 the day falls on a Tuesday.
Holiday dates in Vietnam shift from year to year. Tết ran for nine days in 2026. In 2027 it runs from February 4 to February 10, seven days. Workers made up two Saturdays in 2026, January 10 and August 22. Under the schedule announced so far, 2027 has none.
The Viet Media's new Vietnam Public Holidays page lays out both years in one place, Culture Day included. It covers New Year's Day, Tết, the Hung Kings Commemoration, the April 30 Reunification Day and May 1 Labour Day break, National Day and Culture Day. For each one it gives the dates off, the length of the break including adjoining weekends, and any make-up workdays. You can subscribe to Vietnam's public holidays in Google, Apple or Outlook calendars from the page.
The dates follow the schedule for public agencies. Private companies can set some holidays themselves, so check your employer's notice.
