[Year in Review: Vietnam's Concert Market Exploded in 2025 — G-Dragon, 2NE1, Jisoo All Came]
2025 was the wildest year in the history of Vietnam's concert market.
From January to December, K-pop acts arrived back to back and international stars took turns lighting up the stage. Vietnamese fans finally had no reason to envy their neighbors. Here is a look at what made this year so remarkable.
The K-pop Invasion
The biggest concert event in Vietnam this year belonged to G-Dragon.
On June 21, the "King of K-pop" performed at Hanoi's Mỹ Đình Stadium for the VPBank K-Star Spark concert — his first return to Vietnam in 13 years. All 40,000 tickets sold out instantly. In November, he came back to Hanoi with his "Übermensch" world tour, playing two consecutive shows. Tickets sold out within three days, setting a new sales record in Vietnamese music history.
Earlier in the year, 2NE1 kicked things off. The legendary girl group brought their "Welcome Back" reunion tour to Ho Chi Minh City's SECC for two nights on February 15–16, drawing tears from countless fans.
On March 30, BLACKPINK member Jisoo's "Lights, Love, Action!" Asia tour reached Mỹ Đình Stadium in Hanoi as its final stop. She donned a Vietnamese nón lá on stage and wrote "Yêu Việt Nam," making it a viral moment on social media.
In May, BIGBANG member Daesung brought his "D's WAVE" Asia tour to Ho Chi Minh City — the first overseas stop of the tour. Later that month, rising girl group BABYMONSTER's "Hello Monsters" world tour also landed at SECC in Ho Chi Minh City.
8Wonder: Vietnam's Own Super Music Festival
Beyond international solo tours, Vietnam's homegrown 8Wonder festival delivered a strong year of its own.
In March, "Road to 8Wonder" was held at Vinhomes Royal Island in Hải Phòng, headlined by South Korean artist BI. On August 23, "8Wonder Summer: Moments of Wonder" took over the National Exhibition Center in Hanoi, bringing together DJ Snake, J Balvin, The Kid LAROI, and DPR Ian, drawing over 50,000 attendees.
On December 6, "8Wonder Winter: Symphony of Stars" featured 18-time Grammy winner Alicia Keys on her first visit to Vietnam, performing alongside Kazakh singer Dimash to close out the year in style.
Why Now?
The explosion of Vietnam's concert market is no accident. Several forces converged.
First, spending power. Vietnam's GDP has grown steadily year after year, the middle class keeps expanding, and young people are willing to pay for live experiences. Second, policy support. The government has actively promoted the "night-time economy" in recent years and streamlined approval processes for large-scale events.
Venue upgrades also played a key role. Mỹ Đình Stadium in Hanoi was renovated, SECC in Ho Chi Minh City is well-equipped, and new venues like 8Wonder Ocean City have come online — finally giving Vietnam the infrastructure to host arena-scale international tours.
What This Year Means
Looking back at 2025, Vietnam went from a market that international tours routinely skipped to an important stop on the Asian concert circuit.
For Vietnamese fans, chasing their favorite artists no longer requires leaving the country.
