The Viet Media Reader Group Is Now Open
Running this page, we've learned something. The best content often isn't our articles — it's what shows up in the comments.
A reader who spent a decade in Vietnam shares the apartment rental mistakes nobody warns you about. A newly arrived expat asks exactly the question every newcomer has. Someone adds an angle we completely missed, and it's sharper than the original piece.
But Facebook buries those comments within days. The algorithm moves on, and the conversation disappears.
There's also the format problem. A Facebook page is one-way by design. We publish, you comment, but a real back-and-forth rarely happens. We wanted a place where we could actually talk with readers — find out what you're tracking, what questions you're running into.
So we started a LINE group.
What Gets Discussed
Anything Vietnam-related. Work, investing, daily life, travel, visas, housing, food — wide open.
Have a question? Just ask. Have something to share? Go ahead. We also post observations and intel that haven't made it into articles yet.
Who Should Join
People working or living in Vietnam. People planning to move and doing research. People who are simply curious about the country.
If Vietnam interests you, you're welcome.
Group Rules
No sales pitches. No recruiting. No ad links. Break the rules and you're out — no warnings.
Everything else is fair game. Just be normal.
What We Might Do Later
If the group builds a good community and grows enough, we'll experiment with online or in-person meetups. Nothing decided yet on format or location, but the group will hear about it first.
This is our most direct line to readers. If you want to talk, this is the fastest way.
