The Viet Media Reader Group Is Now Open
Since we started running this page, we have noticed something.
Some of the most valuable content does not come from our articles. It comes from the comments section. One reader who lived in Vietnam for over a decade shared rental pitfalls. Another, freshly posted from Taiwan, asked a question every newcomer faces. Someone else added a perspective we missed entirely, and it was better than the original piece.
But these comments get buried by the algorithm. A few days later, nobody sees them.
There is another issue. A Facebook page is inherently one-directional. We post, you comment, but we rarely get to actually have a conversation. We wanted a space where we can talk directly with readers and hear what you are paying attention to and what questions you have.
So we created a LINE group where these conversations can accumulate over time.
What Gets Discussed
Anything related to Vietnam. Work, investment, daily life, travel, visas, housing, food. No restrictions.
Got a question? Just throw it out there. Have news to share? Go ahead. We also share observations and information in the group that have not yet made it into articles.
Who Should Join
People currently working or living in Vietnam. People planning to go and doing their research. People who are simply curious about Vietnam and want to learn more.
Whatever your situation, if you are interested in Vietnam, you are welcome.
Group Rules
Simple: no sales pitches, no recruiting people to buy things, no ad links. Violators get removed immediately, no warnings.
Other than that, just chat normally.
What We Might Do in the Future
If the group vibe is good and membership grows, we will try organizing online or in-person meetups. Location and format are not yet decided, but any updates will be shared in the group first.
In short, this group is our most direct channel to readers. If you have something to say or want to chat, the group is the fastest way.
How to Join
The join link is in the comments. Click through and answer a quick question to get in.
